The humidity where I live is very high, and Ive never had a problem. I have my incubator set at 99 degrees and around 70-75% humidity (I raised the humidity since I was checking on the eggs and opening the incubator a little more often). If its on the opposite side as the ducklings bill, you dont have much room for mistakes, so be VERY careful. But if I remember right, Im pretty sure I successfully hatched an egg with hairline fractures on it. Im not sure how long you should wait before doing that, but since youve made a safety hole, there shouldnt be any big rush. Manually pipping the egg is more likely to cause harm than good.
